Frame Suitability

Can my frames be reglazed?

Most good-condition prescription frames can be fitted with new lenses, but because we’re working with a frame you’ve already worn, we need to make sure it’s suitable before we begin.

Your frame should be

  • Complete and ready to wear
  • Free from cracks or significant damage
  • Secure at the hinges and joints
  • Fitted with all required screws and components
  • In a condition suitable for fitting new lenses

Normal signs of wear are absolutely fine.

What we don’t accept

Please don’t send frames that are broken, cracked, incomplete or in need of repair.

KEPT is a lens replacement service, not a frame repair service. We won’t replace missing screws, repair hinges or carry out structural frame repairs as part of your order.

If your frame needs repairing, please have this completed before sending it to us.

Older and well-loved frames

We completely understand that the whole point of KEPT is often to keep a favourite pair of glasses going.

However, frames naturally become more fragile with age and use. Reglazing requires the existing lenses to be removed and new lenses fitted, which places some stress on the frame.

We’ll assess your frame when it arrives. If we don’t believe it’s suitable for reglazing, we won’t proceed without contacting you first.

Unsure?

If you’re unsure whether your frame is suitable, don’t worry. Follow the ordering process and provide the requested frame details so we can assess suitability as early as possible.
